Robert William Hunt was born in Dalham on 3rd March 1915 (Newmarket Q2-1915 3B:789) son of Robert and Eva HUNT(née MUSK ).
In 1939 he married Verdun Sevia Minnie PARR (Bury St Edmunds Q4-1939 4A:4527), who later married Gerald KEMP (reg. Newmarket 1949).

In the 1939 register the family were at 49 Brookside, Dalham. Robert William was a newsagent, as was his father Robert [5-8-1885]; mother [8-5-1888]; his grandmother widow Caroline MUSK. Also Margaret PRACY (later USHER) [3-2-1925] and John PRACY [15-8-1931], these two possibly evacuees.



His battalion were near Kyauchaw in northern Burma, just prior to the Battle of Imphal.
